Bioavailability: Why the form of a nutrient matters
Bioavailability refers to the proportion of a nutrient that is absorbed and used by the body after ingestion. Two supplements may contain the same nutrient on the label, but differ significantly in how much your body can actually utilise.
Factors that influence bioavailability include the chemical form of the nutrient, what else is consumed at the same time, and individual differences in digestion and absorption.
For example, some forms of iron are better absorbed than others, and taking iron alongside vitamin C can support its uptake. Conversely, calcium and iron can compete for absorption when taken together, which is why splitting intake between morning and evening sachets can be beneficial.
Nuuto accounts for these interactions when generating your supplement plan. The morning and evening split is not arbitrary; it is designed to give each nutrient the best chance of being absorbed effectively.
